ABOUT / ERALY ONLINE
History you can
follow to a source.
Eraly Online is an independent history year-guessing game and field guide. Play our Daily and Endless Practice modes, study 350 events in the history library, and use the source-linked timelines to connect dates. Our questions and interface are independent; we are not the official Eraly publisher.
This guide updated .
Which game are you playing?
Independent Practice: Daily selects seven questions for your local date, with 25 seconds per question and up to 700 points. Endless draws without repeats within a run from the same finite 350-question pool. Both are free and need no account. The Practice guide explains lives, score bands, pauses and local saves.
Original Daily: a separate third-party game provided by eraly.io (new tab). It loads only when you choose its mode and press Play on our homepage. Its rules, art, music, progress and availability are separate from Practice. Our original-game instructions and screenshots describe the version checked on 27 October 2026.
Where the 350 Practice questions come from
We write our prompts and short explanations independently. Each question identifies a dated action and links to a supporting source on its reveal. The current bank combines questions checked on 28 October and 1 November 2026. Publication, patent, launch and completion are treated as different milestones rather than interchangeable dates.
Sources include museums, archives, research organisations and institutions documenting their own awards or missions. Examples you can inspect:
- English Heritage: the Battle of Hastings — the event and its setting.
- NASA NSSDCA: Apollo 11 — mission milestones and dates.
- CERN: a short history of the Web — the distinction between proposal and release.
Browse the full Practice collection for the source attached to a particular answer. A source link supports a factual claim; it does not mean that institution endorses this game. Dates can require interpretation, and the collection can contain errors. Our five era labels are navigation conventions, not universal historical period boundaries.
Question a date? Show us the milestone.
Use the project’s GitHub issue tracker (new tab) to report a correction. Include the event’s wording or its library link, the year shown, the source URL, and what the source says. GitHub may require an account; reports there are public. Do not include personal information.
Corrections should explain what changed, especially when two dates refer to different stages of the same event. A historical answer is not evidence about today’s separate Original Daily puzzle. The library deliberately contains no purported original-game daily answer service.
Saves, statistics and third-party content
Practice progress is saved in this browser when storage is available. It does not sync across accounts or devices. Clearing site data can remove it. Original Daily uses its own storage, which browsers may isolate inside an embedded window.
Pages use 1back for aggregate traffic statistics. Our loader respects Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and the local statistics opt-out, and does not send local preview traffic. This page and the learning library do not load the original-game iframe.
The homepage retains a Pop advertising script from abscloud.org. Choosing Original Daily and pressing Play also loads content from eraly.io. These third parties may make their own requests and use storage under their own policies. Practice itself runs on this site.
