Start with three lives. Build streaks through a finite 40-question pool; no question repeats within a run. The clock shortens every ten questions.
Try Endless PracticeSEPARATE / ORIGINAL
The original Eraly Daily is provided separately by eraly.io. Its six-era display and scoring differ from our five-era Practice game.
Choose Original DailyPRACTICE / KNOW YOUR POINTS
Daily Practice adds seven base scores, with a 700-point maximum. Older events allow a wider error margin.
| Result | Points | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Exact year | 100 | No error |
| Very close | 85 | Small error |
| Close | 60 | Near the event |
| Approximate | 35 | A broader estimate |
| Distant | 15 | Further away |
| An attempt | 5 | Outside those bands |
| Time ran out | 0 | No timely answer |
Fewer than 30 base points costs one life. Three, six and nine consecutive answers worth at least 60 base points activate ×2, ×3 and ×4.
An exact year adds 25 before the multiplier. Every two exact answers can restore one life, up to five. The run ends when you lose the last life or exhaust the 40-question pool.
Practice shows five broad eras: Ancient, Medieval, Early Modern, Industrial and Modern. These are display conventions, not universal historical boundaries.
Use any example years to see the independent Practice base score. This does not reveal daily answers or include Endless bonuses and multipliers.
ORIGINAL PROMPTS / CHECKABLE HISTORY
Our 40-question Practice bank uses original wording and links each revealed answer to a historical source. It is separate from the original Eraly question set. The bank was checked on 28 October 2026; the examples below are source references, not today’s answer list.
ORIGINAL DAILY / QUICK BRIEFING
The screenshots and instructions below describe eraly.io’s version checked on 27 October 2026. Its controls, rules and availability can change.

Read the event carefully. A ruler, invention, place or war can narrow an unfamiliar date to a familiar century.
Enter a year from 1 AD to 2026 in the version checked, then press Enter or tap GO. Daily gives you 25 seconds and one guess per moment.
The answer shows your error, points and a short history fact. Choose Next when you are ready. A missed timer scores zero.
ORIGINAL DAILY / SCORING
An exact year always earns 100 base points. For other answers, older events allow a wider margin of error.
| How close? | Points | Title |
|---|---|---|
| Exact year | 100 | Timekeeper |
| Very close | 85 | Chronicler |
| Near | 60 | Historian |
| Rough | 30 | Explorer |
| Further away | 10 | Tourist |
| No answer | 0 | Lost in Time |
TRY A SCORING EXAMPLE
This independent example uses the observed eraly.io 2026 rules. It does not read your game or provide today’s answers.
Exactness wins. A guess 10 years away from 1800 scores 85; the same error near the present scores 60. No daily answers are revealed here.

MORE THAN A RIGHT ANSWER
The reveal is the useful half of the game: compare your year with the answer, watch the traveller advance, and read the short fact when it appears.
A low score can still give you a memorable historical anchor. Read it before rushing into the next round.
Build a better timelineORIGINAL DAILY / VISUAL ERAS
Your guesses move the traveller through these visual worlds. Think of them as broad historical anchors, rather than a substitute for a date.
Empires, classical cities and early milestones.
Kingdoms, trade routes and changing beliefs.
Printing, exploration and expanding connections.
Steam, machines and a rapidly changing world.
World wars, changing societies and global connections.
The internet, computing and global networks.
PRACTICAL HISTORY TIPS
Useful habits for a history guessing game—without looking up today's answers.
Ask what had to exist before the event: ocean-going ships, a printing press, a steam engine, a radio? Eliminate impossible centuries before choosing the exact year.
If the event belongs to a war, reign or technological period you recognise, start there. A sensible estimate earns more than letting a difficult question time out.
Attach an unfamiliar event to something you already know: before a revolution, after a voyage, during a ruler's lifetime. Connections are easier to retrieve than isolated numbers.
After the game, write down one surprising event and an anchor you already knew. Revisit those connections on your next journey; the useful reward is a stronger sense of chronology.
PLAYING & SAVING
Know which mode you are using. Practice and Original Daily have separate rules, storage and loading behavior.
Yes. Start our independent Daily or Endless Practice above. These free Practice modes run on this site without an account. Original Daily is a separate, third-party game available from its own mode tab.
No. This is an independent companion with our own Practice game and source-linked questions. The original Eraly game, art and music belong to their respective owner. Original Daily is provided separately by eraly.io, and its screenshots here illustrate that version rather than our Practice game.
Daily Practice selects seven questions from our 40-question bank using your browser’s local calendar date. You can replay that set. After local midnight, finish your current run and reload for the next selection. Questions can recur on different days; this is not the original Eraly daily puzzle.
No. It uses the same finite 40-question Practice pool, without repeating a question within one run. It starts with three lives and ends when those lives are gone or the pool is exhausted. You can start another run in a different order.
They are separate implementations. Practice uses base scores of 100, 85, 60, 35, 15, 5 and 0; Endless adds its own bonuses and multipliers. The Original Daily version checked on 27 October 2026 used 100, 85, 60, 30, 10 and 0. Both allow wider error margins for older events. Use the scoring guide for your selected mode.
Practice saves in this browser when storage is available and pauses when you leave the tab or change modes. Its Daily and Endless runs are separate. It does not sync accounts or transfer Original Daily progress. Original embedded and new-tab play may also have different saves because browsers can partition third-party storage. Avoid clearing storage if you want to keep progress.
Practice has touch buttons and a numeric year field. Tap Guess year or press Enter to answer. Original Daily uses its own year field and GO control. If your keyboard covers the result, close it after submitting; full screen may provide more room where supported.
For Practice, check your connection and reload this page to fetch its scripts; saved progress can resume when browser storage is available. For Original Daily, return to a Practice tab if the external game fails. Its mode also has a new-tab fallback. Browser privacy rules, extensions or the provider’s availability can affect embedded play. Do not clear storage as a first troubleshooting step.
